Job Description

Careers at The Duke
The Duke is an exclusive venue where hospitality, events, fine dining, and golf come together in the heart of Brabant. With one of the most beautiful 18-hole golf courses in the Netherlands, our fine-dining restaurant The Charles, various meeting spaces, the charming Clubhouse, The Royal Duke where we host large groups (from corporate events to weddings), and the luxurious Suites, The Duke is truly one-of-a-kind. But what really sets us apart is the atmosphere: Brabant hospitality, genuine attention, and a team that works together with pride.

The Duke is in full swing. We are growing, becoming more professional, and building an organization that is just as strong on the inside as it is on the outside. HR plays a central role in this. We believe that being a good employer starts with genuine care for our people and guests, but clear processes and a culture of excellence also contribute to this.

Your Role at The Duke

You’ll help further develop the HR structure at The Duke. You’ll be given a concrete and substantive graduation project with plenty of room to make your mark. You’ll work closely with the HR Manager and also liaise directly with managers and colleagues on the work floor. We may already have various projects you can work on, such as:
• Mapping and describing the key HR processes within The Duke (including hiring, career progression, turnover, absenteeism, onboarding, and performance reviews);
• Drafting and helping to implement an employee handbook that aligns with the organizational culture and applicable laws and regulations;
• Contributing to the further development and updating of the onboarding program for new employees;
• Identifying areas for improvement in existing work processes and translating these into concrete proposals or tools;
• Participating in day-to-day HR operations.

But first, we'll work with you to determine what best meets your learning needs and the needs of The Duke.

What We're Looking for in You

What do you bring to the table?
• You are in the final phase of a bachelor’s degree in HRM or a related field;
• You have a research project or thesis topic related to HR processes, personnel policy, or organizational development;
• You are proactive and not afraid to take the initiative, but you also ask for help or feedback when needed;
• You’re able to switch easily between hands-on, practical work and more analytical or writing tasks;
• An affinity for the food service, leisure, or hospitality industries is a plus, but certainly not a requirement.

What We Offer

• Agraduation project or internship with opportunities to make a real impact—your work will actually be put to use within the organization;
• Directcollaboration with managers and HR colleagues, and insight into the full scope of the HR profession;
• Awarm, informal atmosphere where you’ll quickly become part of the team;
• Agreat learning environment: hospitality, dynamic business operations, and Brabant warmth.
